Just a question though, how exactly would they get Guild Wars in the first place?
- Did they pay for it with their own money
- Was it a gift?
- Did it just miraculously appear?
- Or did their parents pay for it?
- Maybe they could have paid for it.
- Unless they can get their parents on the "but uncle Steve did it, and he's so much cooler" argument, oh well.
- Pray?
- My previous statement stands.
I didn't mention it before, but I guess I should now; They could have figured out a way to get money themselves. Go out and do something for someone. Mow some lawns, shovel snow, clean gutters, whatever. There was a time when that's what children did when they wanted to buy something, instead of just relying on their parents.

Any parent that lets a 12 year old play a game rated for TEEN is a FAILED PARENT

Those are examples. There are still many jobs out there for 12 year olds.
The promotion started in July and ended in October. That covers Summer Break for most children. Last time I checked, there are a good number of things you can do during that time to earn money.

It is a strange irony that a product was offered to the Customers of a game whose age group is by and large, below credit card holding age, in a store (online) that required the explicit use of a Credit Card to acquire the goods. This seemingly ignores any concerns any parent would have when their child asks for such a thing. And if the parent isnt techno savvy etc and is cautious of online transactions, then its a downhill track for the child that wants to buy into the product isnt it?
It strikes me that as a Commercial decision, theres a few flaws in there that could quite easily have been avoided or some things better executed, not only to benefit the customer base but also the relationship that exists between Supplier and Customer.
The scratch card "ingame credit" card strikes me as one of the better ways to allow 'anyone' access to the online store via their retail store. One product is provided by ANet..the scratch card (limiting costs) and this in turn can buy any of the available purchase option in the online store. Acts like a Top Up card or they can be one shot deals. Cost dependent.
All that said though... some things like Promotions and say, Divine Aura, should maintain a certain specialness, just that they shouldn't be limited (in availability - at their given date of release) by silly factors as the inability to pay via CC due to being underage.

Well, no one in the UK can come and say that they can not get a debit or prepaid card since you guy's where one of the first countrys to have check cards and prepaid cards. I know because I lived in England in the 80's and 90's.

Sell Bmp to people but make weapons blue lol
I'll sign if everyone agrees to let people without divine aura buy it from the online store and the weapons are blue to remind the bmp disadvantaged about their choices. Could just see some of you staring at you're inventory contemplating suicide and how dirty you feel for not having a pure gold weapon.
Wait - then they would be a thread like this:
Quote:
"Pentition to make bmp weapons gold"
"Hi I think bmp weapons should be gold because I dont use collector weapons and I feel degraded. Feeling like this effects the way I play pve and my general feeling about GW in general. If anet does not make this happen then it will show their utter contempt towards us people that choose to buy Gwen for the box. I need the box and gold weapons because to me thats Guild Wars! So tell me what you think.

'I honestly find you amusing'
Rude would be arguing peoples post with no insight onto their opinions, just bad punctuation.
Industry works? Sorry I dont look into the process of selling games and such.
